1. Forklift brake pad replacement cycle
The replacement period of brake pads in forklift parts is mainly based on the operating environment of the trolley and the driving habits of the forklift driver, and there is no rigorous replacement period. Forklift trucks are generally inspected after 3000 hours of driving, and replacement is considered for 6000-10000 hours. When observing or stepping on the forklift brake pedal is too low, you need to disassemble the wheel hub during forklift maintenance to check if the forklift brake pads are thin. You should ask the forklift maintenance technician to check during maintenance because there will be errors in visual observation, and professional maintenance use calipers to measure more accurately than naked eyes.
2. Forklift brake pad removal method
1. Open the brake oil pot to prevent overflow:
The first step in replacing forklift brake pads is to open the oil can. Since the piston of the brake wheel cylinder should be reset during the subsequent replacement process, the oil in the brake oil circuit will return to the top. If the brake oil of the forklift is relatively complete, it may cause an overflow from the oil tank. Therefore, it is necessary to open the lid of the oiler and put two pieces of absorbent paper on it to avoid oil spillage and at the same time to prevent the forklift brake oil from being contaminated during the replacement of the brake pads.
2. Remove forklift tires. Since the brake pads are located inside the front wheel hub of the forklift, first remove the tires, use a professional wrench to loosen the tire bolts, and remove the tires. Then raise the forklift so that the front wheel of the forklift is suspended to facilitate the replacement operation later.
3. After disassembling the tires, disassemble the half shaft. After taking the half shaft out, remove the fixing screws and nuts, take out the inner and outer bearings inside, and remove the hub. Pay attention to the inner hub bearing and the inner corner. Do not damage the oil seal during disassembly and assembly. Then you can see the forklift brake system accessories such as the brake wheel cylinder and brake pads inside.
4. Remove the handbrake cable. Then remove the tension spring on the brake pad. After loosening the brake pad, remove the fixed spring on the brake pad. The fixed spring must be removed with a unique tool or clamped with strong pliers and then moved from the upper cross. Rotate in the direction of the word. Then you can disassemble the fixed spring and remove the brake pads. Then remove the top fixed handbrake tensioner.
5. Disassemble the old brake wheel cylinder. First, remove the oil inlet pipe and drain screw behind the brake wheel cylinder, remove the locking screw and then remove the old brake wheel cylinder.
3. Installation method of forklift brake pads.
Installing forklift brake pads is the opposite of the above removal method. After the installation is complete, add new forklift brake fluid to the brake fluid pot and then step on the brake pedal. After installing the forklift brake pads, you must enter the forklift and step on the brake pedal 3-5 times. The purpose is to drive the cylinder piston through the brake, thereby squeezing the forklift brake pads and resetting the piston. Then remove the air in the brake wheel cylinder. After exhausting the air in the brake wheel cylinder, adjust the gap between the brake pads and the brake hub according to different conditions so that the friction surface of the brake can reach the top position of contact and play the best Excellent braking effect.
